Dog & Bond Featured in The Sun as Doggy Ice Cream Sales Soar

Doggy ice cream is becoming one of the summer’s most popular treats, and Dog & Bond was recently featured in The Sun as part of an article exploring the growing trend and how owners can keep their dogs safe during hot weather.

With the UK experiecing a particularly warm summer The Sun reported that sales of ice cream made especially for dogs were soaring. Dog & Bond founder Avi Nagel explained that demand had increased significantly:

“Our doggy ice creams have been flying off the shelves. Sales have more than doubled over the same period last year.”

Our easy-to-make doggy ice cream mixes are designed to give dogs and their owners a fun summer activity to enjoy together. Simply add water, mix and freeze to create a refreshing treat at home.

However, a frozen treat is only one small part of keeping a dog comfortable when temperatures climb.

How to keep your dog cool in hot weather

As part of the feature, Avi shared practical advice to help owners protect their dogs during warmer weather.

Walk during the cooler parts of the day

Try to schedule walks for early in the morning or later in the evening, avoiding the hottest part of the day. Pavements can become extremely hot in direct sunlight and may burn sensitive paw pads.

Provide plenty of fresh water

Make sure your dog always has access to fresh, cool drinking water. Dogs primarily regulate their body temperature through panting, making hydration particularly important during hot weather.

Keep your home as cool as possible

Closing blinds or curtains during the hottest part of the day can help prevent rooms from overheating. Fans can also be used to circulate the air.

One simple idea is to place a bowl of iced water safely in front of a fan to help create a cooler breeze.

Introduce safe water play

A shallow paddling pool, sprinkler or gentle garden water play can help dogs cool down while giving them something enjoyable to do.

Always supervise water activities and allow your dog to decide how much they want to participate.

A refreshing summer treat for dogs

Dog & Bond’s doggy ice cream range is available in three flavours:

Peanut Butter – our original doggy ice cream flavour and a firm favourite with dogs.

Strawberry Bliss – a fruity, dairy-free and grain-free recipe made with coconut milk and strawberry.

Fresh Mint – a dairy-free and grain-free combination of coconut milk, mint and parsley that freshens breathe.

Each mix is easy to prepare at home. Just add water and freeze in a suitable container or one of our paw-shaped moulds.

Doggy ice cream should always be served as an occasional treat alongside fresh drinking water and sensible precautions during hot weather.

We are delighted to see Dog & Bond featured in The Sun and to help more owners create enjoyable summer moments with their dogs.
